ALL SAINTS PARISH, ANYINAM, OBUASI
All Saint Anglican Church, Anyinam ,Obuasi was founded in 1996 by the Rev. Fr. Garnet Prah Arthur, (now Archdeacon of Obuasi) Who was then a Worker Priest at AGC(now AGA) and also Priest at St. Paul’s Parish. The Rev. Fr. Prah Arthur ,having the responsibility of ministering to Outstation Churches and residing in Bruno Estate, recognized the need to bring together Anglican within the huge mining community of Anyinam(South Of Obuasi), who because of distance or other issues have become inactive. He established the Church together with three other families namely Messrs Osei Kwaku, Sam Ampiah and Emmanuel Sagoe at Anyinam Methodist J.S.S On 10th March 1996, with a congregation of about 18 members mainly children of these three pioneering families.
The Women’s Fellowship was established in June 1996 with three members who were Mother Ernestina Prah Arthur, Ms. Mary Mensah and Ms. Rita Adu-Boakye. Through Evangelism Other Members joined and The Number Was increased to fourteen. The Women’s Fellowship was inaugurated in the year 1997.
The Mother Union of All Saints Parish was established in June 1998.
1ST PCC MEMBERS
The First P.C.C. Members were Messrs Sam Ampiah (Peoples Warden), K.A. Bentil (Priest Warden), Osei Kwaku (Parish Secretary),Emmanuel Sagoe (1st Catechist), Sam Ocran (Assistant Catechist), Isaac Opoku, Francis Awuah (A.Y.P.A. Representative),N. O .Sampson, Ms. Mary Mensah ,Ms. Rita Adu-Boakye, Ms. Hagar Acquah, Ms. Patricia Effah Sasu.
Mr. Sam Ocran was appointed Catechist in place of Mr. Sagoe who left St. Paul’s Parish.
SOD CUTTING CEREMONY
In Year 1999, A Sod Cutting Ceremony was performed by Nana Prah Agyensaim VI (Former Member of Council of the State and Chief of Assin Kushea Traditionl Area. The Church Service was officiated by the Venerable P.A Boateng, The then Archdeacon of the Function assisted by Fr. Cyril Ben Smith the then Parish Priest of St. Paul’s Parish.
NEW BISHOP MAIDEN VISIT
As soon as the Rt. Rev. Daniel Yinkah Sarfo was enthroned Bishop of the Diocese of Kumasi, he paid a maiden visit to the Church while members were worshipping in the classroom (Anyinam Methodist J.S.S).
In his sermon, he advised members to be vigilant and dedicate their lives for god’s Work. He assured them that their labor shall not be in vain. The seed that first watered is now bearing much fruits; the establishment of All Saint made it possible the Obuasi Archdeaconry to take off.
INAUGURATION OF ALL SAINTS CHURCH AS PARISH
On 10th March2001, My Lord, the Rt. Rev. Daniel Yinkah Sarfo, Bishop of Anglican Diocese of Kumasi inaugurated All Saints as Parish and encourage members of the Church to work hard. It was a very grand occasion which was attended by many dignitaries including Dr. Kwame Addo Kuffuor (the then Minister of Defence) And Nana prah Agyensaim (Former member of the Council of State and Parmount Chief of Assin Kushea Traditional Area) as well as other important personalities.
ANGLICAN YOUTH PEOPLE ASSOCIATION
The A.Y.P.A which was inaugurated in 1997.
